Freshman Orientation Day
On September 16, 2018, a warm and informative orientation for incoming freshmen took place at the Science College Theater. Under the supervision of Academic Advisor, Ms. Sarah Alateeg, and Extracurricular Activities Coordinator, Ms. Norah Al-Qahtani, the event aimed to equip new students with crucial insights about campus life.
The session was inaugurated with a heartfelt welcome speech delivered by Ms. Safiah Asiri on behalf of Dr. Salma Al-Qahtani. Subsequently, Ms. Alateeg introduced the students to their rights and responsibilities, forming an essential foundation for their academic journey.
Elucidating the technical aspects of campus resources, Ms. Aisha Nussir and Ms. Aisha Alvi broke down the nuances and advantages of the university's learning management systems, Academia and Blackboard. Their presentation aimed to demystify these tools, emphasizing their role in enhancing the academic experience.
Ms. Norah Al-Qahtani then took center stage to acquaint the freshmen with the vibrant array of extracurricular opportunities available through the Activities Club. She shared an exciting preview of the planned events for the semester, painting a vibrant picture of the enriching experiences that awaited them beyond the classroom.
The event concluded on a high note with a guided tour of the college and campus, providing the new students with an up-close and personal view of their new academic home. The tour marked the end of a successful orientation that fostered an inviting and informative atmosphere for the freshmen.
