In a groundbreaking initiative, the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a computer-based test (CBT) for the 2nd Midterm Exam in the International Test Preparation (ITP) Course. Spearheaded by Hassan Costello and Matthew Paul, the CBT marked the introduction of the IELTS Online Assessment in the course, revolutionizing the way students are evaluated.

The implementation of the IELTS Online Assessment brought forth numerous advantages for the students. The assessment included sections designed to evaluate listening and reading skills through targeted tasks. An added advantage was the immediate on-screen display of unofficial scores (excluding essays), empowering students with instant feedback on their performance. Individual headphone and volume controls ensured an immersive and personalized testing experience, while the use of comfortable computer-equipped stations contributed to a conducive environment for examination. Furthermore, the enhanced test security measures instilled confidence in the integrity of the assessment.

The resounding success of this event can be attributed to the unwavering support and guidance provided by the E-Learning Department, as well as the strategic oversight of the Managing Administration of the Faculty of Languages and Translation. The instructors of the ITP course extend their sincere appreciation for the invaluable assistance received throughout the entire process.

By embracing innovative assessment methods, the Faculty of Languages and Translation continues to prioritize the academic growth and success of its students, ensuring a seamless transition into the world of international language testing.
