Under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean, the English Language Center (ELC) successfully conducted the midterms and final examinations for the First Semester 1435-36 online via the Blackboard platform.

The examinations for ENG 011, ENG 012, and ENG 015 were held in designated e-Learning Labs, specifically A/1/72, A/1/74, A/1/75, A/1/76, and A/2/83. Approximately 2,000 students participated in these online examinations.

Dr. Ahmad Ismail Assiri, the Vice Dean, expressed his satisfaction and appreciation for the implemented online examination process.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Rezgi, the Director of the English Language Center, extended his gratitude to the E-Learning Deanship and its team for their support in ensuring the success of the online examinations. Mr. Al-Rezgi acknowledged the significant challenge posed by the large number of students and emphasized the center's commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of the examinations. To address concerns related to the use of unfair means, more than 85 sets of Listening, Reading, and Grammar tests were administered. In ENG 011 alone, a total of 111 sets were deployed as part of the center's zero tolerance policy against academic dishonesty.

Mr. Mohsin Raza Khan, the Supervisor of the E-Learning Unit, employed various strategies during the examinations to ensure a smooth and secure process. These strategies included the use of the Firefox browser for Listening, Reading, and Grammar exams, the distribution of invigilator checklists, implementation of double password policies, and prompt resolution of any technical issues by the on-duty staff. Mr. Khan highlighted that prior to the examinations, training workshops on online assessment were conducted for students and new faculty members to familiarize them with the process.

Mr. Abdullah Zubain, the E-Learning Specialist, expressed his appreciation for the College's commitment to implementing best practice security measures and conducting successful online examinations.

Special recognition was given to the following faculty members for their efforts and outstanding teamwork:

  • Mr. Javed Ahmed, General Coordinator of ELC
  • Mr. Rizwan Ghani, Coordinator of ENG 011
  • Mr. Farouk Haji, Coordinator of ENG 015
  • Mr. Jahangir Alam, Coordinator of ENG 012
  • Mr. Salahuddin Abdulrab, Head of the ELC Examination Committee
  • Dr. Mohammed Asif Ishfaq, Coordinator of Online Examinations
  • Mr. Ahmed Sholan, In-Charge of E-Learning Lab

The faculty members of the ELC provided invaluable support as invigilators during the online examinations. They assisted students with entering passwords, guided them on test submission procedures, checked grades, and collected feedback when necessary. Their dedication and professionalism in invigilating thousands of students under demanding circumstances from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM were commendable.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Rezgi expressed his gratitude to all coordinators and invigilators for their hard work and commitment, acknowledging their significant contributions to the success of the online examinations.
