The KKU Literature Club organized a groundbreaking presentation series on World Literature, recognizing its significance in providing insights into humanity's beliefs, self-perception, philosophies, assumptions, and interactions with the world. The event took place on November 18, 2014, at the KKU main campus, with Dr. Ali Alamir, the Chair of the English Department, gracing the program as the chief guest. Faculty members and students from various departments actively participated, lending their presence to the occasion. The confident anchoring by Mr. Matthew Paul added to the allure of the program. The Event Management Committee and the English Club jointly supported and promoted this presentation series.

The highlight of the program was the engaging presentations by Mr. Eyhab Bader Eddin on "Syria in Poets' Eyes Across Ages" and by Dr. Mahmoud Radwan on "The Modern Arabic Novel." Their discussions, which incorporated cross-cultural, historical, and political perspectives, captivated the audience with a wealth of facts and ideas. Through their comparative studies, fresh insights emerged that will undoubtedly leave the audience contemplating for some time.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Shahrear Talukder, the club coordinator, expressed the view that world literature represents a symbiosis of national and international literature, allowing us to develop a better understanding of the world around us. In today's world of conflicts and misunderstandings, world literature can serve as a harbinger of peace and unity.

This philosophy of world literature resonated throughout both presentations by Dr. Eyhab and Dr. Mahmoud. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ali Alamir, expressing appreciation for the enlightening presentations and the spirit of unity and cultural exchange they fostered.
