Using Computer-Assisted Translation Tools (CAT, SDL, MemoQ, Trados)
The Alumni Association at the College of Languages and Translation in Quraiger organized a workshop entitled: "Using Computer-Assisted Translation Tools (CAT, SDL, MemoQ, Trados)", presented by Dr. Majda Babiker Ahmed, Assistant Professor at the College of Languages and Translation, King Khalid University, on Monday, 6/10/2025.
The workshop lasted for two hours and witnessed a large turnout and active participation from the attendees. It aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental skills of using computer-assisted translation programs in order to enhance translation quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
- An introduction to Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
- The concept and importance of computer-assisted translation in the labor market.
- The difference between machine translation and computer-assisted translation.
- An overview of the most popular CAT programs such as SDL, MemoQ, and Trados.

:نظّمت رابطة الخريجات بكلية اللغات والترجمة بقرَّيقر ورشة عمل بعنوان
"استخدام أدوات الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسوب (CAT, SDL, MemoQ, Trados)"،
قدّمتها الدكتورة ماجدة بابكر أحمد، أستاذ مساعد بكلية اللغات والترجمة بجامعة الملك خالد، وذلك يوم الاثنين الموافق 6/10/2025م.
استمرت الورشة لمدة ساعتين، وشهدت إقبالًا كبيرًا من الحضور ومشاركة فعّالة من المتدربين. وهدفت الورشة إلى تعريف المشاركين بالمهارات الأساسية لاستخدام برامج الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسوب، وذلك من أجل رفع جودة الترجمة ودقتها وتسريع عملية الإنجاز.
وتضمّنت الورشة عددًا من الموضوعات المهمة، من أبرزها:

مفهوم الترجمة بمساعدة الحاسوب وأهميتها في سوق العمل.
