A Visit to the 14th Book and Information Fair
In a bid to bolster student reading skills and foster a culture of literacy, the English Club of the Faculty of Languages and Translation paid a visit to the 14th Book and Information Fair. The delegation comprised of Assistant Dean Dr. Suad Al-Qahtani, College Coordinator of Activities and Social Services Mrs. AmatulHafeez Alvi, College Coordinator of Public Relations and Media Ms. Aisha Alvi, several faculty members, and 14 students. The attendees had the opportunity to explore various book displays and added an array of English and Arabic titles to their personal collections.
Following the fair visit, Dr. Al-Qahtani convened a meeting with the students to discuss their impressions and experiences. The students were appreciative of the occasion and expressed gratitude for being exposed to such enriching opportunities.
In their own words, the students shared their experiences. Amani remarked, "The book fair was amazing, having the dean's assistant and lecturers with us made the experience even more enjoyable and educational." Sara commented, "The fair was delightful. I found every book I had in mind." Taif noted, "It was wonderful, truly. The books catered to all ages, and many were unique." Enas added, "The book selection was impressive! The atmosphere was much more welcoming than previous book fairs I've attended."
Mrs. AmatulHafeez Alvi, Activities and Social Services Coordinator, reflected on the experience: "It was an enjoyable outing with our students and colleagues. Our gratitude goes to Assistant Dean Dr. Suad for her unwavering support of such activities and trips aimed at enhancing our students' linguistic and social capabilities. We also extend our thanks to King Khalid University for organizing this successful fair."
