Aiming to enhance students' speaking prowess, the Faculty of Languages and Translation recently conducted a workshop titled "Speaking Skills". The event took place on the 2nd of April, 2018, in the university's A/3/1 hall from 11 am to 12 pm. The session was organized by Dr. Mohammad Asif Ishfaq under the auspices of the Dean, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, and Vice Dean, Dr. Yahya Asiri. Assisted by Mr. Mohammad Kamaluddin, the workshop successfully engaged the participation of approximately 35 students.

Dr. Mohammad Asif centered the workshop around the concept of the 7 Cs of effective communication. He detailed the importance of completeness, conciseness, consideration, concreteness, clarity, courtesy, and correctness in the articulation of thoughts and ideas. He emphasized how effectively leveraging these principles can ensure a speaker's message is clearly understood and well-received.

The workshop's practical approach culminated with participants breaking into small groups to put what they learned into practice. Each group delivered short presentations, and the sessions were enriched with peer feedback, allowing students to learn from one another's strengths and weaknesses. This hands-on approach helped the students integrate their understanding of the 7 Cs into their practical communication skills. The "Speaking Skills" workshop was highly interactive and resulted in a productive learning experience for the students.
