On November 5th, the Women's Scientific Research Committee of the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized an enriching two-hour workshop entitled "Reach Your Goal With IELTS", presented by lecturer Ms. Anjum Mishu.

Opening her session, Ms. Mishu provided a comprehensive summary of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), underlining its significance as a globally recognized English language proficiency test. The IELTS exam is often a prerequisite for access to a range of education and employment opportunities worldwide. The lecturer further enlightened attendees on the process of IELTS testing and the criteria used in assessment.

The focus then shifted to an in-depth review of IELTS preparation, with particular emphasis on the Academic module. This component, Ms. Mishu noted, is crucial for those applying for higher education or professional registration in an English-speaking context. It is particularly relevant to those seeking graduate, post-graduate, or professional training. All participants received a plethora of resources to aid in their preparation for the four skill areas assessed in the test: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Twenty-five undergraduate, graduate, and former students attended the workshop. The numerous questions raised by the attendees showcased their eagerness to excel in the IELTS test. Ms. Mishu offered a wealth of valuable insights and tips on strategies to prepare for and perform well in the exam.

As the workshop drew to a close, the coordinator of the scientific research committee expressed gratitude towards Ms. Amjad Alamri and Ms. Ahlam Asiri for their contributions. The participants were also acknowledged for their attentiveness and dedication. Certificates of participation were then distributed, much to the appreciation of the attendees.
